Cut/fill change map comparing two 3D survey dates, with color-coded areas showing terrain height differences for volume and mass determination.

Mass determination

If at least two datasets of the same area from different points in time are available, precise volume and mass calculations can be derived from them. Based on the 3D survey data, we calculate the volumes moved within a defined period and additionally visualize where and how the terrain has changed.

This method is well suited for quarries, for example to determine the amount of overburden and rock extracted within a financial year.
